MoveOn.org Political Action and Grassroots Campaigns have built a network of local activists that changed the political landscape of the country.  Through Operation Democracy and Call for Change - with the incredible work of more than a hundred thousand MoveOn members, we took back Congress and created a "change election" in 2006.

MoveOn.org Political Action and Grassroots Campaigns, Inc. are working together to continue Operation Democracy – MoveOn members working together at the local level.  Organizing staff are helping take activism from online to on-the-ground, building a network of grassroots leaders and getting media coverage for key issues.  We’ll be strengthening and developing the amazing local volunteers who participated in Operation Democracy over the last year and in Call for Change over the last few months.

We’ll continue working on local events– town hall meetings, bake sales, vigils, and petition drives  - to get local media coverage.  We want to make sure that Democrats support progressive changes and take full advantage of their new leadership in the House and Senate.

Grassroots Campaigns is placing organizers in communities across the country to support local groups of MoveOn members.  Currently, our Operation Democracy project is fully staffed.
