»A Time for Action

Like no time in recent memory, wealthy, powerful polluters have succeeded in electing politicians who protect their interests at the expense of our air, water and land. Environmental Action PAC's mission is to help elect candidates who will defend our environment and to defeat those who would destroy it.

Polls show that Americans truly care about our air, our land, and our water -- an environment that both provides enjoyment and sustains our health. These values cut across traditional party lines, attracting support from outdoor recreationalists, suburban families, and religious communities. Yet with a second term, Bush's disastrous environmental policies will continue -- unless we do something.

That's where Environmental Action PAC and its 100,000 Trees Campaign comes in. The goals of the campaign are to:

  • Enlist 100,000 contributors. These are the "trees" it will take to keep Bush from continuing his environmental destruction over the next four years.
  • Plant more than one million "seeds of hope". Environmental Action PAC will talk to over one million Americans, door to door, one at a time, about Bush's ongoing destruction of our air, land and water.
  • Build a new political force for pro-environment Congressional candidates in 2006. Nowadays, almost every candidate is obliged to give lip service to the environment. Environmental Action PAC will support candidates whose actions show support for saving national forests, promoting clean energy, and elminating mercury.

Environmental Action PAC and Grassroots Campaigns have partnered to launch a door-to-door campaign to mobilize the public against Bush's destructive environmental policies.
