»Acorn and Project Vote

At an awards ceremony during the Democratic National Convention, we recognized several organizations for their non-partisan efforts to increase voter participation.

acorn_photosm.jpgACORN and Project Vote have combined forces this year to conduct the largest voter registration and mobilization project that either organization has ever done. In the photograph here, ACORN director Steve Kest (back center) took time out of the election season to celebrate with friends.

The organization has completed 520,000 minority registrations on their way to a goal of 950,000 and are planning a door-to-door voter mobilization drive targeting a voter universe of 1.8 million low propensity minority and low-income voters.
